North Hill cleanup after a tight alley blocked the front load
We rolled into North Hill Preservation District on a humid morning after a renovation tore out plaster, lath, and old flooring. The alley behind the house barely gave our truck room to breathe, and the street had parked cars lined up tight along the curb. We had to think through every inch before we dropped the dumpster, because one bad angle would’ve jammed the whole block and slowed the crew down. The customer needed debris out fast so the painters and finish carpenters could keep moving without tripping over piles of material.
I backed our truck in slow, checked the swing room, and set the container where our roll-off could grab it cleanly without blocking the lane. We used our heavier chains and watched the clearance around the historic trees and narrow drive access, then coordinated the pull so the driver never had to guess. That kind of setup keeps a job site open instead of tying it up. The homeowner got a clean work area, and the contractor stayed on schedule without hauling debris by hand.
“They worked the tight alley like it was nothing, and our renovation kept moving.”
